Resize Lite App Reviews

works great

works like advertised

Pretty great

I definitely need a simple resizer. Not sure how I found this, or when I got it, but I came across it just now on my computer as I was looking for an easy way to do some batch resizing. Tons of options here for different ways to adjust photos, and to switch between filetypes (JPG, PNG, HEIC...) and a LOT of other ways to adjust images that I'm not really sure of. Took off one star because the UI for actually entering your desired changes is really, REALLY tiny. But really, this is a cool program that "does what it says on the tin," and does it well.

Great product.

I've been using this product for a long time. It always delivers.

Works with ease

Need images resized on a weekly basis and this does it flawlessly

Resize lite

I can't figure it out!? I would buy it if it works. But, there is no help on it & I don't know how to work it?

Works well, with a few minor issues

I can't afford a Photoshop subscription anymore, Apple Preview crashes a lot when resizing, and I'm not experienced enough with GIMP to do automated/batch processing, so this app is a lifesaver for me. It's very easy to use, and it does a good job. A few things though: 1) Another reviewer said he used it to resize over 100 files at once. That is false, as it can only resize 50 at a time. He must have been using the pro version. 2) Dark mode compatibility isn't 100%. In particular, if you switch to dark mode while the app is open, the selected preset box turns completely white, text and all. Also, the translucent window that appears when importing images is almost illegible in dark mode. 3) Resizing the Status column to be smaller results in the text and status bar overlapping the file icon. 4) I can't seem to find a way to pause or stop the batch resizing once it's begun - for example, if I forgot to change the desired resolution due to portrait/landscape and need to redo it. 5) Some weird behavior when entering the desired resolution - sometimes a comma appears. I forget if it appears after hitting Tab, or when I click on the up/down size increment arrows, or both. I don't know if it does anything, but it's inconsistent behavior. 6) After typing in the resolution, you have to tab or click off the box in order for what you entered to actually register with the app. If you don't, it will use the previous resolution. 7) Any time an image is resized, in any app, some edges may lose a bit of definition. Resized images should be sharpened a little bit afterward (such as with Photoshop's Unsharp Mask). This app does not have that ability. But I suppose that would be too much to expect from a free app. 8) The app doesn't load the CPU, but it does make it run hot (~73˚C). For some reason, this combination does not cause my Mac's fans to speed up, which is a little scary. I honestly think my Mac's battery has swollen a bit because of this (trackpad click is almost nonexistent now). I believe this is more an OS or EFI issue not an app issue, but it's something users should be aware of. One star off for all of the minor issues listed in #2-6 above.

Disaster

I installed ResizeLite for the sole purpose of attaching reduced photos to my emails. After installation, my hotmail 'add photo' icon can no longer access my Airbook Photos application. Instead it access the little iPhoto Library of stock images — not the 'Photos' application that holds my saved photos. I un-installed ResizeLite, but I still can't access my photos when composing an email. I use my Airbook (macOS High Sierra 10.13.6) in only routine ways and never fiddle with applications or programming. I don’t have a clue how to undo the damage.

Actually Works!

I've tried many apps to resize photos and very few of them do what they say they do. They may resize your photos, but don't believe them when they say they've resized them to your specifications. Check the pixels carefully, and you'll see that most resizing programs are worthless if you want to be precise. Not so with this program. It works -- and is accurate!

Great product

Does what it is suppost to do without any issues.

It just works

I've resized single files or over 100 files all at once. I've converted PNG to JPG (etc.) just with select, open, choose conversion, and "go". It's really easy to use, and I haven't seen it crash or add artifacts. In fact, it works so good that after freeloading on this for the last few years, I've paid for the "pro" version.

Has potential

I have had the issue of crashing just like other users have, but at least it was after it exported the image already. So right there, the app is buggy. Even if you set your quality to 100% and no compression, it still compresses your images if you’re shrinking them to a strange algorithm. No clue why all my PNG files look like fuzzy garbage when resizing them in Photoshop they look fine. :( Unless the compression algorithm is set to not resize properly. Idk. Not purchasing.

Converted GREAT

Needed to convert from 1125 × 2001 to 1242 x 2208 pixels for portrait view. Worked perfectly. Highly recommend this app to get the conversion done quickly.

Very helpful

Easy to use, and very helpful.

Fagitaboutit

Crashed everytime I tried to open the app. Dont waste your time.

Great App

Some on line sites and forums have size limits on imported photos. This app makes it very simple to shrink my pics to fit those limits. AND I love the price - free! It is nothing fancy, but it fills my need completely.

Not user friendly. Can’t figure out how to use it.

See the title.

Crashes on newest MacBook Pro with latest MacOS

Every since I upgraded my MacOS version, Resize Lite crashes within about 3 seconds of opening. It works longer on m\y older 2012 MacBook- long enough to resize once, before it crashes.

Works Great

Works just as advertised. Took me about 2 minutes to put the finisihing touches on a project. Thanks!

doesn’t open

ever since i updated my macbook’s os, the app crashes on launch

Great app!

Resize Lite makes resizing images for web use quick and easy. It’s a no fuss, quick work app that does what it says.

Works smoothly

You just right click on the file and Resize Lite comes up as one of the options. Choose it and then click on "convert" and you have a much smaller photo that is suitable for webuse.

Converions Does Not Work

The application proved to be unstable and did not convert to different image formats

Awesome!! Need larger pics for youtube or itunes standards? Here you go!!

So-far So-Good! Need a quick and simple app to enlarge a pic for my itunes podcast page and this did the trick in seconds at 2am! I worked months to do this through other apps and couldnt figure it out then PRESTO RESIZE LITE.

Thank You!!!

Knew what I wanted to do, which was to resize a picture for uploading to a site per their specs. Had no clear idea as to how to do it. Checked the App store. Found this app, downloaded it and having no knowledge of the process, just followed the Yellow Brick Road and in short order had exactly what I needed. Uploaded it. No problem. Done. Thank you again.

Good tool

I just need a simple tool to quickly, reliably resize graphics designed for other things for inclusion in emails. This program is fantastic—easy, quick. Couldn’t ask for a better solution.

Exactly what I needed

This app just saved me quite a bit of time resizing camera photos for use on one of my client's websites. Thank you so much!

Great App To Use

Just reading the reviews, I know it had tp be a good app to try. So, I already had pics open to resize. Drag each pic to the screen-hit convert-Wahla!!!

Has you rate it to work or donate, not free

Not free…

Great as advertised

I was looking for an alternative to Fotosizer and found this. It gets the job done as advertised, so all good!

I like it

I had some other picture resize, but it was more complicated, and I spent so much time just trying to learn it. This one has a few options in resizing, so I just clicked on the one for height, experimented till I got the megabytes I wanted, and that’s just the default I use. I just make sure to send it to the folder I want. Simple. Thanks!

Batch Re-size

I’m a Realtor and I’ve been struggling to find a app to batch reduce the size of my photos to a specific size needed in the type of work I do. This worked GREAT.

nice and fast

Still to try it fully

User-Friendly and Quick

A very user-friendly interface and you can get your task done smoothly and quickly without any hassle! Plus, it’s free. Can’t get better :)

Great!

Simple but great result.

Simple and to the point

Loved how simple are the resizing options. It is a must for quick and swift image resizing and very lite!

Pretty darn good

When looking to make photos from various sources match, the batch resizer is a must. Using the Lite version, I was able to successfully resize multiple photos to the same size, regardless of ratio. The other available options allow batch manipulations to several other restrictions and worked well. Fairly simple to use and the app retains last-used settings which helps if your project spans a few days.
